Society for Neuroscience Chapters Travel Awards

The Chapters Committee of the Society for Neuroscience is pleased to continue a program to support graduate student and postdoctoral fellow travel to the SfN annual meeting in Chicago, IL, October 17-21, 2009. The Society for Neuroscience Chapters Travel Awards provide a stipend to defray some of the travel expenses plus complimentary meeting registration fees to honor outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral fellows nominated by their local SfN chapters. Awardees will be chosen by the Chapters Committee on the basis of the scientific merit of the abstract, evidence of outreach activities, as well as letters of nomination from the Principal Investigator/Mentor and the local nominating chapter.

The Philadelphia Chapter of the SFN can nominate one student and one postdoctoral fellow to compete for these awards. If you would like to be considered for selection, please submit your application to Ellen Unterwald (Ellen.Unterwald@temple.edu) by May 15th, 2009. Only one student and one postdoctoral fellow from each laboratory can be nominated. The officers of the Philadelphia Chapter of SFN will select one graduate student and one postdoc from the applicants to be nominated to the SFN Chapters Committee. Last year 14 postdoc awards and 42 graduate student awards were granted.
